Zorlu challenges China from Bursa

Opening the doors to the Zorlu Group’s flagship company KORTEKS to the media in a press conference at which his older brother Zeki Zorlu was also present, Zorlu Holding President Ahmet Nazif Zorlu spoke self-confidently. Calling KORTEKS “Europe’s biggest techno-textile base”, Zorlu said “This plant is without equal in the world. There may be some as big in the Far East but you won’t find this quality. If anyone can, I’m ready to give him the key to this factory.” Relating the story of KORTEKS’s foundation, Zorlu said that they had started out in business with two velvet weaving looms twenty-eight years ago and that achieving what they had today had been no easy task. “In 28 years” said Zorlu, we’ve become a giant manufacturer with an annual production capacity of 580 tons of polyester yarn that exports 60% of its output.” Noting that their next goal was to strengthen their brand image worldwide, Zorlu added “In 28 years we’ve created plants with such good infrastructure that today we’re able to sell know-how to others. The average age of our plants is two years. KORTEKS is in a position to continue competing through renewal investments for another ten to fifteen years. That’s a Zorlu word of honor.”
