General Information
The KORTEKS yarn plant ranks among the world’s leading curtain manufacturers from the standpoint of annual production capacity. With a daily polymer production capacity of 580 tons, it is the biggest facility of its kind in Europe and the Middle
East.
In a single year the KORTEKS yarn plant produces 203,000 tons of polymer, 140,000 tons of partially-oriented yarns (POY), 35,000 tons of fully-drawn yarns (FDY), 122,500 tons of texturized yarns, and 7,000 tons of twisted, fancy yarns. This output gives KORTEKS a 55% share of total polymer yarn production in Turkey as well as a 50% share of the country’s polymer production, 40% of its POY production, 40% of its texturized yarn production, and 100% of its FDY
production.
The KORTEKS polymer plant has the largest purified terephthalic acid (PTA) storage capacity in the world, with four silos each capable of holding 3,600 cubic meters of this essential plastic powder that is processed into polymers for manufacturing fabrics. Rated at 13,200 KVA, the company’s dynamic uninterrupted power supply system is also the biggest
in Europe.
The KORTEKS weaving and knitting plant ranks among the world’s top ten companies with an annual curtain production capacity of 117 million square meters.The company’s embroidery unit produces 4,400,000 meters of embroidered curtains, 5,160,000 meters of guipure curtains, and 840,000 meters of guipure curtain yarns a year. The finishing unit can turn out 65 million meters of goods a year while the cut & sew unit’s capacity is 4,000,000 pieces a year.
