KORTEKS IS ACCEPTED TO GET FUNDING FROM HORIZON EUROPE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION PROGRAMME WITH THE PLASTICE PROJECT.
In the textile part of the PLASTICE project, mostly “Cotton” and 'PET' blended products will be collected and degraded into raw meterial structures. Cotton yarn will be decomposed into its raw materials; cellulose/sugar by enzymatic process, and then this sugar will be converted into ethanol. Other Textiles that cannot be sorted by this method will either be recycled directly or cleaned with a washing process to sort the other contaminated products on it. On the other hand, PET polymer will be degraded into its' raw meterials PTA and MEG , and then converted to granule form by repolymerization process. We will be involved to the project at this stage by firstly analyzing the recycled PET granule with chemical methods and investigating its convenience for filament yarn spinning.
Next, by using approved recycled granules, to produce different filament yarn types in the melt spinning process then, perform physical and chemical analyzes of all yarns produced and create the yarn specifications.
For a more habitable world, we will continue to move forward with our goal of making a difference and being a role model in the fields of sustainability and circular economy.
