As Korteks, we have built all our processes and business operations in a sustainable lifecycle since the first day we were established as Europe's largest integrated yarn manufacturer and exporter, and we are pleased to share with you another success we have achieved together.
This year we obtained the IREC certificate, which proves that we obtain the electrical energy we consumed last year from renewable sources. At the same time, thanks to this usage, last year we ensured that the carbon emissions we indirectly generate (Scope 2) were reduced by 100% and we reduced the company's total greenhouse gas emissions by 80%. With the IREC certificate we received, we moved to using electricity from renewable sources instead of electricity from fossil fuels.
